We are constantly updating our product to provide a great user experience. The Codiga Coding Assistant helps you create, share, and import reusable code snippets in your IDE (known as recipes). Previously while using our Coding Assistant, users were required to write complete keywords of what recipes they were trying to use. But now, to provide a good user experience and ease of work, we have pushed shortcuts for VS Code for our current update (version 0.3.1).

This will let users directly populate recipes onto their IDE by typing out the library you want to use, followed by ‘.’ (period) to get suggestions. More recipes will be added soon to provide more recommendations and options for the users.

What’s new in version 0.3.1?

  1. Shortcuts are now enabled in VS code. (For Javascript & Python)
  2. Using CMD + SHIFT + C[Mac]/ CTRL + ALT + C [Windows] opens Codiga Coding Assistant to find snippets based on a search like a google
  3. Using CMD + SHIFT + S [Mac]/ CTRL + ALT + S [Windows] pens the list of all shortcuts
  4. Minor bug fixes

To get the latest update. Please install the newest version of the Codiga Coding Assistant. This can be done by visiting the vscode marketplace

Once done, you can use our latest features. Shortcuts can be used in Python & Javascript.

Shortcuts in Python

To use the new features in a Python File, follow these steps.

PYTHON SHORTCUT DEMO

Step 1: Open the file you want to code.

Step 2: Make sure you have opened up a python form.

Step 3: Type the library you want to use, e.g. "aws" followed by a ‘.’ to get a recommendation.

Step 4: Select from the suitable recommendation

Done! That's it. Your recipe is directly imported & populated to your IDE.

Similarly, follow the below steps if you want to use this in your javascript file.

JS SHORTCUT DEMO

Step 1: Open the file you want to code.

Step 2: Make sure you have opened up a python form.

Step 3: Type the library you want to use, e.g. "react" followed by a ‘.’ to get a recommendation.

Step 4: Select from the suitable recommendation.

You can also make your recipes and shortcuts from our dashboard. Currently, we are working on more code recommendations, i.e. adding more quality recipes.

What to expect in the next update?

  1. Better code recommendations.
  2. More quality recipes.
  3. Better user experience.
  4. Amazing code experience.
