Hey There! as we said before, we are a collaborative platform where you can share your recipes with your teammates. As of now, we are only allowing private recipes to be shared among your group.
So what exactly is the difference between a public and private recipe. As the name suggests, When a recipe is marked public, any user on the platform can reuse the recipe. A user needs to subscribe to the recipe or the cookbook that contains this recipe. When a recipe is marked private, only you or the shared group can use this recipe.
A group assembles users so that they can share projects.
Unfortunately, while using Github, groups cannot be created; instead, you can use the GitHub organization as a Group in Github Integration. In that case, you need to install Codiga on your GitHub organization as you are good to go.
If you use other integrations, you can create groups without much of an issue.
Now let us see how one can share your private recipes with your selected group.
Step 1: Go to your recipes and select the private recipe you want to share with your group
Follow these steps to go to your recipes
- Go to app.codiga.io
- Login to your account
- Click on Coding Assistant on the left horizontal menu
- Click on Recipes
For example, We will take the test code as the recipe we want to share with the group.
Step 2: Click on edit recipe
This is where you will get an option to share recipes among the group. You can go to this section by clicking the "Edit Recipe" button on the top right corner of your screen.
Step 3: Scroll down to the section with the title “Share”
Step 4: Using the drop-down menu select the group you want to share the recipe with.
This is how a recipe is shared among a group. Once the recipe is shared, your group/teammates will use these recipes in their code and projects.
You can check the shared recipes for your group using the below steps.
