As a previous amazonian, I have been deeply influenced by the Amazon leadership principles. I believe they form a strong base to build a successful company. I have been also influenced by the book Principles from Ray Dalio.

  1. Mission focus: our first priority is to focus on our mission to help developers write better code faster. Customer happiness is our primary goal, we strive to deliver a product that delights customers.

  2. Quality over quantity: more does not always mean better.

  3. Accountability: we take responsibility for what we do and commit to what we promise.

  4. Minimalist: focus on what is essential for our customers. We avoid using unnecessary resources and stay lean.

  5. Transparency and trust: we are transparent with our customers and communicate ongoing issues and product change as soon as we can. We strive to investigate problems and find the root cause when a customer is facing an issue.

  6. Data-informed: we make decisions based on data. We do not dismiss our expertise and gut feeling: we use them to drive our investigation and research and we check if data backs our assumptions.

  7. Open and curious mind. We do not hesitate to question and challenge the status quo. We revisit decisions made before: what was not possible yesterday will be possible tomorrow.

  8. Move forward: When we face disagreement, we discuss options, take a decision and commit to it as a group.

  9. Hire the best: we hire people we admire and we are excited to work with, wherever they might be. We strongly believe that amazing talent is located across the globe, not only in US tech hubs.

  10. We are humans after all. We make mistakes. We assume the best intentions. We try to understand and then, be understood.
